Emma

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. When she moved to Oxfordshire at the age of five, she enrolled in The Dragon School. Emma was just six when she decided that she wanted to be an actor. She was trained for many years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford in which she learned singing and acting. At the age of 10 Emma took part in several Stagecoach productions and school plays. Casting began in 1999 to cast Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was identified by casting agents thanks to Emma's Oxford theater teacher. After a string of auditions for eight consecutive times, the producer David Heyman told Emma and the other candidates Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint they were cast for the role of the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's debut film appearance came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. It also was the most profitable film in the year 2001. The first Saturday and Sunday revenues were record-breaking. Critics praised the film and the performance of three top young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British publication, described Emma's acting "amazing". Emma's performance was nominated and won five awards later for the movie.
