Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is a famous Indian actress, best known for her roles in the movies Beta Saajan and Hum Aapke Haiin Koun..! The actress was initially famous for her role in Tezaab from the 1980s, in which she co-starred along with the veteran actor Anil Koopor. The next time she appeared on the screen was in Dil alongside Aamir. In her early years she began developing her skills at a young age. As a teenager she started acting, and was a victim for a few years as the majority of her early films failed. Her breakthrough came when she finally had success and she went on to be one of the most prominent actresses within the Indian film industry. After her wedding, she took a break in her career before re-entering the industry. She was a key character on Gulaab Gang, a film about women's struggles in India. Dixit received fifteen Filmfare Awards nominations, of which she took home eight. The actress was also honoured with the Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian honor in India. The award was also given to her for her work in the field of social work.
